The New Birth
The New Birth is a reflection on the experience of studying theatre in the aftermath of Covid. The lockdown silenced the studios of Russia’s oldest performing arts university, forcing students to remain at home, unable to create art in person.
When restrictions lifted and we returned to classrooms and rehearsal halls, nothing was the same... We were confronted with urgent questions: What is theatre post-covid? What is our place within it as artists, performers, and creators? What has been lost - ...and what has been born?

Mama, I'm drowning
Like many teenagers, Alisa struggles with the crushing weight of academic pressure and emotions she is only beginning to understand. Longing for comfort, she turns to the one person she needs most — her mother. But consumed by her own struggles, her mother dismisses Alisa’s attempts to reach out, never realizing how desperately her daughter needs to be seen. Overwhelmed by loneliness, Alisa finds herself drawn toward the silence beneath the surface. A poignant story about what happens when the person closest to you never realizes you're already drowning.
